Robert T. Caskey was born Feb. 14, 1856 in Indiana, and departed this life at Osceola, Iowa, where he had been taken for an operation, April 3, 1924, aged 68 years, 1 month, and 19 days.
His parents moved to Patterson when he was about two years old, afterward moving to Truro when he was a boy in his teens, where he has ever lived until the end came after a brief illness.
On Sept. 9, 1875 he was united in marriage with Miss Amanda Ellen Hartman. To this union five children were born, one child having died in infancy, and one daughter, Ross Haugh, having passed to the other world on July 4, 1923. The three girls living are: Mrs. W. D. Downs of St. Charles, Mrs. L. L. Landis of Des Moines and Mrs. D. C. Bradshaw of Denver, Colo.
Mr. Caskey united with the Christian church when a young man and has ever been a faithful Christian and a loyal member of the church. He was a good citizen in the community, living a quiet peaceful life; in the home a kind, loving companion and father. His friends were many. He will be missed in his church and Sunday school, but more in the home.
Besides his companion three daughters and one grandchild Donald Bradshaw, he leaves to mourn his departure, many relatives and friends. The funeral was conducted by Rev. R. L. Raybourn on Sunday afternoon, April 6th, and the remains laid to rest in the Hartman cemetery.
