W. C. FARLOW DIES AT LONG BEACH

Veteran Winterset Business Man to Be Buried Here Thursday

Welba C. Farlow, a Winterset business man for 30 years, died last Thursday, April 29th at his home in Long Beach, Calif. Death was caused by a heart attack. He was 68 years of age.

Mr. Farlow was a native of Winterset and spent his entire life here until about seven years ago. Born in 1880, he was the son of Albert and Mary Teys Farlow. As a young man he served as a rural mail carrier here, and about 1912 he entered the garage business here. He operated garages here for about 30 years, until moving to Des Moines about 1941. He lived in Des Moines two years before moving to California.

His only son, Eldred, and a foster daughter, Virginia, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife; three brothers, Ralph Farlow of Denison, Glen Farlow of Tacoma, Wash., and Earl Farlow of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Marie Greenwood of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held here this Thursday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home at 2:30 p.m. and burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
