MRS. CHARLES CUMMINS DIED LAST SUNDAY

Funeral Services Were Held Today for Life-Long Resident

Mrs. Charles Cummins, well known Madison county resident, died here Sunday, Aug. 29th after a week's illness. Mrs. Cummins, who was 67 years of age, suffered a stroke a week ago at her home in Lincoln township and was brought to the Peterson nursing home where she succumbed last Sunday.

Edna Bertholf Cummins, daughter of Linza M. and Josephine Bertholf, was born in Lincoln township, Sept. 29, 1881. She was raised in this township and was married to Charles T. Cummins April 23, 1902. They had since made this county their home.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Cummins leaves four brothers and one sister: Wray and Cole Bertholf of Hollywood, Calif., Don Bertholf of Harlingen, Texas, Davisson Bertholf of Des Moines, and Mrs. Mamie Smith of Winterset. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Arthur Weed of Orient conducted her funeral services at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
