AUDLEY CLARK DIED SATURDAY

Member of Pioneer Family in Madison County Was 70 Years of Age

Audley Clark, member of a pioneer Madison county family, died Saturday, Sept. 25 at his home in Iowa Falls of a heart ailment. He was 70 years of age.

Thomas Audley Clark was the son of Joshua and Cynthia Clark, and was born in Winterset Aug. 20, 1878, a grandson of the first white settlers in Madison county. He was married here Dec. 25, 1900, to Ada Duff. Her death occurred in 1944.

Mr. Clark spent 52 years in the monument business. For many years he was connected with the Winterset Monument company. He moved to Iowa Falls in 1928, and for 20 years he had been associated with his son, Lloyd Clark, in the Iowa Falls Monument company.

He is survived by two children, Mrs. Ralph Dunn of Carroll and Lloyd Clark of Iowa Falls; five grandchildren; three great grandsons; four brothers, Walter, Claude and Everett Clark of Winterset, and Charles Clark of Omaha, Nebr.; and a sister, Mrs. G. I. Jordan of Inglewood, Calif.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Iowa Falls and that afternoon at the Richards Funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. John Clinton of Des Moines, formerly of Iowa Falls. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
