MRS. GLADYS STIFEL DIES

Mrs. Gladys Roach Stifel, former Madison county resident, died at her home in Des Moines Tuesday, May 9th after an extended illness. Mrs. Stifel who was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Roach of Lee township, was born in this county, Jan. 10, 1906, and lived here until she moved to Des Moines about ten years ago.

She is survived by her four children: Donald, Ila Mae, Nancy and Sharon all of Des Moines. She also leaves two brothers and two sisters, Charles Roach of Des Moines, John Roach of Cumming and Mrs. Alice McAllister and Mrs. Edith Dippold of this county.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stifel will be held at the Lily funeral home on High street in Des Moines, Thursday, May 11th at 1:30 p.m. and burial will be made in a cemetery northwest of Des Moines.
