MRS ROY TAYLOR

Mrs. Roy Taylor departed this life August 31, 1956 at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines at the age of 66 years, six months and 24 days. Having entered there August 23 for an operation. She hadn’t been well for several years and her heart was too weak for this shock. Although all possible was done she could not recover.

Nellie Frances Boothroy was born on a farm near Goodland, Kansas on February 7, 1890. Her parents were Mary Davis Boothroy and Franklin Boothroy. She was next to the oldest of a family of eight children. Her mother, father, and two brothers, Thomas and Joseph and one sister, Lily preceded her in death.

She moved from Kansas with her parents and family to a farm southwest of Earlham in a covered wagon at the age of seven years. She was a member of the Early Chapel church most of her life.

On January 31, 1909 she was united in marriage to Roy Taylor of Earlham. To this union was born one daughter, Marie now Mrs. Oliver Fink of Earlham.

She had lived at the same farm home near Penn Center since the fall of 1909, a period of 47 years, and had made many friends. She loved to work in the church as long as able helping with anything to make the community a better place in which to live.

She leaves besides her husband, daughter, and son-in-law, five sisters, Mrs. Lena Lundgren of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Alma Emerich of Alameda, California; Mrs. Elizabeth Harmon of Des Moines; and the Misses Jessie and Florence Boothroy of Des Moines. Also three nieces and two nephews and their families and a host of other relatives and friends.
