Funeral Services Held on Friday With Burial at Monroe
Fred L. Klos of Orient died at his home in that community Tuesday, Oct. 16, at the age of 82 years.
Mr. Klos was born at Monroe on Feb. 15, 1874, a son of Rinehart and Josephine Klos. His life was spent in farming in Jasper, Madison and Adair counties, except for three years in Minnesota. He moved to Orient in 1939, and worked as a salesman there until ill health forced his retirement.
He was married Jan. 3, 1901, to Minnie Clark in Prairie City. They were parents of 11 children, all of whom survive, except one which died in infancy.
He leaves his wife; 10 children, Floyd Klos of Afton, Mrs. Pauline Campbell of Des Moines, Mrs. Josephine Eivins of Macksburg, Mrs. Florence Walker of Prairie City, Mrs. Viola Mayes of Beardstown, Ill., Mrs Zelda McKee of Compton, Calif., Mrs. Velma McVay of Afton, Mrs. Dorothy Lauer of Creston, Mrs. Inez Stickels of Afton, and Mrs. Clarice Porter of Henderson, Nev. He also leaves 42 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday from the Orient Methodist church. Burial was made at Monroe.
