Death of Ellen Terry

The funeral services of Mrs. Ellen Terry, a former resident of Winterset, were held at Tidrick's funeral home last Wednesday, January 20th. Mrs. Terry who was 87 years of age, had died at the home of her son, George Terry, at Hutton Valley, Missouri.

Twenty-five years ago she left Madison county and for awhile she made her home in Clear Lake, but recently she had been residing in Missouri.

Mrs. Terry was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Clark. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Vaun, Mitchell, South Dakota, Mrs. M. E., two sons, Elmore of Burlington and George Terry. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Henrietta Thompson of Winterset.

Her brother, George Clark of Denver had died just a few days preceding her death and his funeral was at Tidrick's on the 16th of January.

Two sons, William and James and one daughter, Ida Blevins, preceded her in death.

Her husband William E. Terry died in 1884.

She leaves 42 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
