Thursday, January 5, 1933Mrs. S. B. Wheelock Dies
Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. S. B. Wheelock in Alhambra, California, Tuesday, December 27th (1932). Funeral services were held in California, December 30th.
Mrs. Wheelock has been ill and practically helpless the past two years and Mrs. Mott Wheelock has been caring for her.
The Wheelocks were old time residents of Winterset and many who have resided here a number of years will remember them. Mr. Wheelock was a Winterset grocer and was a director of the National Bank here. Mrs. Wheelock was born in Covington, Kentucky and was married to Mr. Wheelock in 1867. They had one son, Mortimor. The couple were familiarly known here as "Uncle Brig" and "Aunt Maria".

Word was received in Winterset Tuesday of the death of Mrs. Brigham Wheelock in Los Angeles at the home of her daughter-in-law. She was about 86.
Mrs. Wheelock was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ogden, a pioneer Winterset family. The Ogdens had a store on the south side of Winterset's square during and after the Civil war. Maria Ogden taught school several years and was married to Mr. Wheelock in 1867. They had one son who died about twenty years ago. The family was prominent in Winterset for many years.
Word of the death came from Mrs. Ella Nichols Malcolm to Mrs. Charles McMillan.
