Mortuary - Jane White

Jane White, youngest daughter of John and Mary White was born December 18, 1852 at Bonthorp, Lincolnshire, England and passed to her reward March 3, 1932 at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 15 days at her home in Madison township north of Murray where she had lived for forty years. At the Church of England in Willoughby on June the 15th, 1876, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Kirk who preceded her in death January 30, 1920.

In the year 1889 they with nine children came to the United States and settled in Madison county north of Lorimor where they lived for two years, then moved to the present home where she has since resided.

To this union thirteen children were born, twelve of whom survive, one daughter, Mary died at the age of two years.

The children are Mrs. Florence Iiams, Mrs. Lizzie Simmerman, Mrs. Olive Simmerman, Mrs. Clara Camp, Mrs. Susie Short, Frank, Joseph, John, George and Hiram, all living near the home, White near Grandriver, Iowa and Mrs. Margaret Thurman of Santa Barbara, California.

These children with fifty grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother and grandmother.

She united with the Church of England at an early age and later she united with the Church of Christ at Madison Chapel where she was always in her place when her health permitted.

Barney -

Mr. and Mrs. Vern Short and Christine and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Adcock attended the funeral of Mrs. Jane Kirk on Sunday at the Madison Chapel church.

Mrs. Kirk passed away on Thursday after an illness of several weeks.

She will be greatly missed by her many relatives and friends.
