MICHAEL LOOS, ST. CHARLES

Michael Dean Loos, 50, of St. Charles died of cancer Feb. 3, 2007 at the Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, Feb. 7) at Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Rev. Bill Branson officiating. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Quincy, Ill.

Mike Loos was born March 13, 1956, in Quincy, Ill., to Wilford and Sharon Dee (Butler) Loos. Following his graduation from Quincy High School, he furthered his education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. Mike worked as an electronic technician for Broadcast Electronics and Uticor. He then worked in the broadcast field for several different radio stations before working at WQPT in Moline, Ill. For the past 12 years, he worked at Des Moines Area Community College as an audio visual specialist. His marriage to Sandy Schwarz took place April 28, 1984 in McCausland. He was a member of the Quincy Auxiliary Police Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, Paul and Katherine Butler and Earl and Alma Loos.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy of St. Charles; three children, James, Jessica and Jenny, all at home; two sisters, Cathi Drew of Sterling, Ill., and Karen Shafer of St. Paul, Minn.; two brothers, Steve Loos of Ursa, Ill., and Bob Shafer of Quincy, Ill.
