Charles Newquist, 80, of Winterset died Jan. 29, 2007, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, Jan. 31 at the Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Bill Branson officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the church.
Charles Newquist was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Des Moines to Charles and Marie (Martin) Newquist. He resided in Des Moines until moving to Winterset in 1992. Charles was a truck driver for 34 years. He also was member of the Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by two daughters, Mari Silver of Des Moines and Cathy Newquist of Cordele, Ga.; one son, Robert Newquist of Minnesota; a sister, Betty Jo Newquist of Des Moines; a brother, Andrew Newquist of Florida; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
