Gwendolyn "Tillie" Lindberg, 95, died Jan. 29, 2007 at Winterset Care Center North. Cremation will be handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. There is no scheduled visitation. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset.
Tillie Lindberg was born March 30, 1911 to Robert and Florence LaBron. Her marriage to Alvar "Swede" Lindberg took place on an airplane above Storm Lake, Iowa on Aug. 13, 1933. Tillie and Swede ran Lindy's Motel in Winterset for over 35 years. A resident of Winterset for 62 years, she also was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Dorothy Peterson.
She is survived by two nephews, Larry Thorpe of Belize, Central America and Lee Wenger of Winterset; and a great-niece, great-great-niece and great-great-nephew.
