Well-Known Resident Had Long Been in Failing Health
Ira H. Camp, a resident of Madison and Clarke counties since he was 15 years of age, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, at his home in Truro. He was 73 years of age, and had been in failing health for two and a half years.
Mr. Camp was born Feb. 8, 1882, near Beatrice, Nebr., the second son of L. J. and Nancy Jane Camp. As a small boy, he moved with his parents to Norton county, Kansas. The family came to Iowa from Kansas.
He was married Feb. 16, 1915 to Ruby Turner who survives him.
He was a charter member of the Madison Chapel Church of Christ, after transferring to the Congregational Christian church at Truro. He was affiliated with Ivy lodge, No. 483, A. F. and A. M. and the Ivy Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Grace Carter, Mrs. Susie Kirk and Mrs. Stella Kirk; and four brothers, E. J., Will, Harvey and Marvin Camp.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Congregational Christian church in Truro, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Walter E. Schilling, and the Rev. Rex Turner of Missouri Valley, a nephew of Mr. Camp. Burial was made in Union cemetery near Murray.
