On July 28, 1867, there came to gladden the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Clark and Lydia Ann Newlon of Winterset, Iowa, a son. They gave him the name of Frank Delvin. He was one of a family of ten children. Frank as he was known by all grew to manhood in Winterset and in his youth, he united with the Baptist church. On June 15, 1898, he was united in marriage to Martha Johnston. To this union were born two sons, Robert Johnston of Des Moines and Frank Clark of Dallas Texas.
For a number of years he was engaged in business, first at Griswold then at Melcher, Iowa. His last few years have been on a farm west of Winterset.
He departed this life April 29, 1932 at the age of 64 years. Leaving his wife, two sons, two granddaughters, Roberta and Drusilla of Des Moines. Three brothers, Edgar A. of Los Angeles, California; George C. of Helena, Montana; William C. of Ventura, California; three sisters, Mrs. W. E. Shambaugh of Booneville; Mrs. Phil Wilkinson and Mrs. Mary Green of Winterset; also other relatives and a great number of friends.

Poor Health is Thought To Have Been the Cause of Rash ActFuneral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday from the Tidrick funeral parlors for Frank D. Newlon, one of Madison county's old time residents. He died Friday morning at the farm six miles west of Winterset at which he and Mrs. Newlon lived. He was 64 years old.
Mr. Newlon had been in ill health for several weeks and had suffered from intermittant spells of sickness. His body was found at dawn in the field, where he had shot himself with a revolver.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Martha A. Newlon, and two sons, Robert J. Newlon of Des Moines, and Clarke Newlon, Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Newlon was born in 1866 on a farm north of Winterset, the second son of Mr. and Mrs. William Clark Newlon.
He spent his boyhood and early manhood in Madison county and in 1898 was married to Martha A. Johnston, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston. Soon after their marriage the couple moved to Griswold in Cass county where he went into the grocery business.
Mr. Newlon at one time operated a grocery store on the east side of the Winterset square and also has been active in the real estate business here. For the last few years he has been engaged in farming.
Rev. A. R. Weed of the West Star church conducted services. He quoted several passages from both the old and new testaments and concluded with "Crossing the Bar."
There was no music and no sermon.
Burial was in the Rock City cemetery.
