Death of E. R. Smith

Ernest Russell Smith passed away at his home in Douglas township early Monday morning, May 9. He had been ill the past two weeks with influenza and became much worse Sunday.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Tidrick funeral home, conducted by Reverend H. L. Olmstead. Burial was in the McDonald cemetery. (McDonald - Chase Cemetery)

Mr. Smith was the son of George H. and Joanna Davis Smith, and was born and raised near Booneville. He was fifty-three years of age at the time of his death and would have celebrated his 54th birthday, July 18th. He was married September 29, 1905 to Grace Richey, who with her son Carl survives him. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Ida Vest of Booneville. Mr. Smith has made his home in Douglas township the past 29 years.
