Funeral services for James A. Walker were held at the Jefferson United Brethren church northeast of Winterset, Thursday September 8th. Rev. E. A. Elliott of Van Meter conducted the services and burial was in the Jefferson cemetery.
Mr. Walker was raised in this county, but for the past 25 years has resided on a farm south of the Elbert State Park. He was 78 years of age and leaves a wife and two children, Ross and Ethel Walker of Sac City; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Crumbaker and Mrs. O. W. Alexander and one brother, Seth T. Walker, all of Winterset. Two sisters, Mrs. A. D. Fletcher and Mrs. Clyde Addy and one brother, W. T. Walker have preceded him in death.

The funeral of James Walker of Commerce was held last Thursday at Jefferson church. Mr. Walker's body was brought to the Fisher funeral home from the Mercy hospital, Des Moines, where he passed away.
Mr. Walker was an uncle of Mrs. Ralph Jennings and a brother-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. James Allcott.
