L. F. LYON SERVICES HELD AT ST. CHARLES

Long-Time Resident There Died in Des Moines on May 19

Funeral services for L. F. Lyon of St. Charles, whose death occurred at the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines May 19, were held May 22 from the St. Charles Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Oren Hall.

Mr. Lyon was 78 years of age. He was a life-long resident of the St. Charles community. The son of John and Margaret Lyon, his early life was spent on a farm northwest of town. In recent years he had lived just north of the city limits.

He was married to Cora E. Killiam on Dec. 25, 1893. They observed their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary on Christmas day of 1949.

Mr. and Mrs. Lyon were the parents of three children. He is survived by the wife; one son, Clarence Lyon of Polk City; two daughters, Mrs. G. F. Stayton of Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. A. J. Frey of Park Ridge, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
