Winterset Woman Died Here Tuesday After Heart Attack
Ruth Tyer of Winterset died suddenly Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Madison county Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for 10 days. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Miss Tyer had been afflicted with a heart condition for several years. She would have been 43 years old on Sept. 28.
She was born in Jefferson township Sept. 28, 1907, a daughter of Ray and Lillie Belle Tyer. Her life was spent in Madison county with the exception of eight years spent in Dallas county. She was a graduate of the Redfield high school. She had been a member of the United Presbyterian church since early life.
She is survived by her mother; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Pilmer of Winterset and Mrs. Margaret Cameron of Des Moines; and four brothers, Earl Tyer of Omaha and Gilbert, Roscoe and Calvin Tyer, all of Winterset. Her father died in 1940.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon from the United Presbyterian church, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. S. C. Picken. Burial will be made in the McDonald U.B. cemetery.
