DEATH OF LEWIS KRELL

Louis Henry Krell for many years a resident of Madison county, died December 31 at the Masonic Sanitarium in Bettendorff, Iowa. He had been in ill health for years. He was 60 years old.

Mr. Krell was born in Pickaway county, Ohio on November 15, 1874, the son of J. H. and Mary Krell. As a baby he came with his parents to Madison county and lived her until 1914. His boyhood was spent in Webster township and he moved to Winterset in 1901. Here he was married to Miss Pearl Lawrence in 1914 and they moved to Des Moines. Mrs. Krell died in 1931.

At an early age Mr. Krell united with the Methodist church, retaining membership here until after moving to Des Moines. There he united with the Four-Square church. He was for many years a member of the Masonic order.

The deceased is survived by four brothers, John Krell and Dayton Krell of Winterset, Chauncey Krell of Ackley, Iowa and Sam Krell of Clarinda, and a sister, Mrs. Tina Wight of Pasadena, California.

Funeral services were to be held today (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m. from Ramsey-Richards funeral home in charge of the Rev. W. W. Bentzinger of the Methodist church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.

SERVICES TODAY FOR FORMER RESIDEBT

Service will be held this afternoon, Thursday, at 2:30 at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home for Lew Krell, 60, who died in Des Moines December 31. The Rev. W. W. Bentzinger, pastor of the Methodist church will be in charge, with the Masonic lodge conducting the services at the Winterset cemetery.

Mr. Krell had lived in Iowa since the fall of 1875 when his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Krell, came here from Pickaway county, Ohio, where he was born. He was well known in Winterset and twelve years was a clerk in Joeckel Bros. clothing store which was then located in the building now occupied by the Crouse grocery. After moving to Des Moines he was employed ten years by the Herring Motor Co.

He had been in ill health the last six years, Mrs. Krell, whio was Miss Pearl Lawrence, died n July 1931.

He is survived by his brothers John and Dayton Krell of Winterset; Chauncey of Ackley and sam of Clarinda, and a sister, Mrs. Tena Mae Wight of Pasadena, California.
