Mrs. M. E. Hollingsworth

Rena Bell Draper was born at Masonville, Delaware county, Iowa, October 21, 1891, and died at her home in Des Moines, April 9, 1930, at the age of 38 years, 5 months and 19 days. She moved with her parents to Kossuth county in 1899, and to Madison county in 1902. She was married to M. E. Hollingsworth September 6, 1916, at Peru. To this union were born three children, Colene, age 12 years, Betty, who died in 1921, at the age of 9 months, and Alva, age 6. She was converted to Christ in young womanhood, and united with the Methodist church in Peru, and remained faithful to the end.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, M. E. Hollingsworth, her daughter, Colene, her son, Alva, her father, L. A. Draper, one brother, Nelson Draper and two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Landis and Mrs. Mabel Landis, besides a host of friends.

She was unselfish and thoughtful of others. She told others and the pastor not to tax their strength to come to see her. The last spoken words which could be understood, were “My Heavenly Father.”
