Week's Letter From Earlham

Word was received here Tuesday morning of the death of Chris Frey at the home of his son Harry. Mr. Frey had suffered a stroke a few weeks ago and had been very ill since. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church in Earlham with Rev. McEldowney preaching the sermon. Music was furnished by a mixed quaraette composed of S.C. Welch, Mrs. Charles Soderburg, Mrs. Arthur Marks and Mervyn McLennan.

Mr. Frey was born in Illinois in 1847 and later moved to this community. He leaves his wife and four children, Mrs. Fred Lentz of Arcadia, California, George and Harry of Earlham and Jess of California. Six children have preceded their father in death. Mr. and Mrs. Frey celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1922. For the past few years since their increasing age Mr. and Mrs. Frey had made their home with their son Harry and family on the farm south of town. Mr. Frey was a member of the Earlham Methodist church.

Burial was in the Earlham cemetery with Roy Fry, Raymond Smith, John Frederick, Walter Eiscle, Otis Craven and Art Cook acting as pallbearers.
