Jas. Parker Price Services Are Held

Widely Known Earlham Man Was Laid to Rest Following Rites at Church of Christ Last Wednesday. Born at Leighton in 1858. Had Been Resident Here Since 1898.

Funeral services for Mr. J. P. Price, widely known and respected resident of Earlham for more than 35 years, were held last Wednesday from the Church of Christ here with Mr. F. M. Redinger, of Des Moines, officiating, assisted by the pastor Rev. W. F. Feay. Interment was in the Earlham Cemetery.

OBITUARY

James Parker Price was born September18, 1858 at Leighton, Mahaska County, Iowa and died at his home in Earlham, Iowa, November 26, 1933 being 75 years, 2 mo. and 8 days old at the time of his death. He was the son Lorenzo Dow and Mary Jane Wood Price.

He was married to Iowa Belle Libby, January 1, 1880 at Oskaloosa, Iowa. To this union were born three sons; Ralph R., Leroy C. and Charles, all of Earlham.

Mr. and Mrs. Price made their home in Mahaska County until the year 1895 when they moved to Wayne County, Iowa, where they resided for three years.

The remainder of his life was spent in and around Earlham where he was esteemed and respected by all who knew him.

He was a member of the Christian church for forty-one years and he died with his trust in the Lord.

Mr. Price was a quiet, unassuming man whose greatest happiness was in his own home and around his own fireside.

He leaves to mourn his loss his faithful companion, three sons and their wives, ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers, three sisters, and a host of relatives and friends.

J. P. PRICE RITES HELD WEDNESDAY

Long-Time Earlham Resident Passed Away Sunday Night Following Several Months Illness.

Mr. J. P. Price, 77, for many years a resident of Earlham, passed away at his home here Sunday evening. Death followed an illness of several months with a dread malady which slowly sapped his strength.

Funeral services for the deceased were held at two o’clock Wednesday afternoon from the Earlham Church of Christ and interment was in the Earlham Cemetery.
