SUFFERING ENDS FOR MRS. WILLIAM LEDLIE

Local Woman Had Been in Failing Health for 17 Years. Last Rites Held Sunday Afternoon from Methodist Church. Interment Was in Earlham Cemetery.

For Mrs. William Ledlie 17 years of suffering has been ended. During the greater part of this time her health has been poorly but not serious. About nine months ago the affliction which had slowly been sapping her life became acute and she suffered severely until the time of her death. She spent some time at the University Hospital at Iowa City but returned to her home a few weeks ago after doctors there announced that there was nothing further they could do.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ledlie, who passed away Friday, were held Sunday afternoon from the Earlham Methodist Church with the pastor Rev. James Walls officiating. A mixed quartet consisting of Mrs. Chas. Soderberg, Mrs. Frank Irwin, Mr. S. C. Welch and Mervyn McLennan sang “Beulah Land,” “Lead Kindly Light,” and “The City Four-Square.” Pallbearers were Chas. Prohaska, Chas. Pearson, Fred Victora, Joe Zebidee, Tenus Hol, of Adel, and James Binns. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery.

Mrs. Ledlie was an exemplary wife and mother, devoted to the affairs of her home. She was a helpful neighbor, doing what she could to help make her life fuller and richer to the limit of her strength.
