When a young woman she came to Des Moines, Iowa where she was united with the Central Christian Church. While in Des Moines she was married to Frank Hines.

While living near Fairview she united with the Fairview Methodist Church and lived a faithful Christian life. When they moved to her late home, she moved her membership to the Worthington Methodist Church in 1929. She was very active in church work and was always doing for others.

She was a faithful loving wife, a wonderful mother to her adopted son and will be greatly missed by her many relatives and friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, one adopted son and daughter-in-law and one grandson, her aged mother and two sister, Mary and Fanny, and five brothers, Fred, Patrick, Ollie, Harry and Zepheniah, two aunts, Mrs. Emma Shepard and Mrs. Martha Oswalt.
