DEATH OF MATILDA SHREEVES JOHNSON

Mrs. Matilda Shreeves Johnson, died Tuesday, April 25th at a hospital in Chicago, where she had been cared for, for some time, her death being caused from some form of heart ailment. Her maiden name was James, and her early life was spent in the vicinity of Bevington. She was nearly 73 years of age.

In 1877 she was united in marriage to G. W. Shreeves of near Bevington and to this union was born four children, two of whom preceded her in death.

She lived a number of years in St. Charles where her husband was engaged in the drug business, and where he died in 1901. A few years ago she was married to L. P. Johnson, who was struck and fatally injured by an automobile, passing away about two weeks ago at Indianola.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Estella Llewellyn of Chicago, with whome she made her home and one son B. F.Shreeves of Des Moines, grandchildren, great grandchildren and two sisters.

The body arrived from Chicago Thursday morning and the funeral was held at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church conducted by Rev. L. W. Nixon. Burial was at Blair Chapel beside her husband and children who had preceded her in death.
