Winterset Man Succumbs To Heart Attack Early Wednesday
Fred G. Libby, a well-known Madison county farmer for many years, died at a Des Moines hospital early Wednesday, April 12, after a brief illness. Death was caused by a heart attack. He was 69 years of age.
Mr. Libby had been a resident of Madison county since 1901. During most of his active years he farmed near Winterset. Lately he had been making his home in town here.
Mr. Libby was a native of Greene county, where he was born the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Libby.
His wife preceded him in death several years ago, and their only child, a daughter died in infancy. Near surviving relatives include two sisters, Mrs. Etta Dillinger of Corning and Mrs. Myrtle Linn of Ralston; four brothers, Frank Libby of Macksburg and Bert, Elmer and Charles Libby, all of Winterset; and a niece who was reared in his home, Mrs. Alberta Smith of near Barney.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this Friday from the Richards Funeral home. Burial will be made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
