DEATH OF FRED RICKETTS

Fred Ricketts, twenty-nine year old farmer of Walnut township died at the Winterset hospital Monday morning, May first. He had been critically ill with acute pylitis and was taken to the hospital last Friday, April 28th for treatment.

Mr. Ricketts leaves two sons, one six and one four years of age. His wife died two years ago. He also leaves a brother of Lorimor and a sister, Mrs. Charles Simpson who lives south of Winterset.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Peru, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, and burial was in the Peru cemetery.

Fred Rickets

Elvin Fred Rickets, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Rickets was born near Barney, Iowa on the 18th day of November 1904, and passed away at the Winterset hospital after a few days of serious illness, May 1st, 1933. He was aged 29 years, 5 months and 12 days.

On May 1st 1926, he was united in marriage to Hazel Gertrude Kirsch, who preceded him in death only a year and seven months. It was on their seventh wedding anniversary that the husband passed away. To this union two sons were born: Raymond Eugene, aged 6 and Jake Edwin, aged 4. Since the death of the mother the little ones have been lovingly cared for by their ever thoughtful father and grandparents.

He leaves to mourn his departure his two sons, his father and mother, two brothers, Elden of Lorimor, Floyd of Barney and one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Simpson, who lives south of Winterset, besides many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Peru, May 3, at 10 o'clock, Rev. E. H. Sands officiating and the body was laid to rest beside his wife in the Peru cemetery.
