May 18, 1933DEATH OF JESS CARTER
Jess Carter, who had been in poor health for a number of years, died at the state hospital at Clarinda, Tuesday, May 9th (1933) at the age of 56 years. The body was brought here and the Rev. H. L. Olmstead conducted private funeral services at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, Thursday morning, May 11th at 10:30 o'clock. Burial was in the Montpelier cemetery at Patterson.
Mr. Carter was born, March 28, 1877, north of Winterset. His parents were James and Tabitha Carter.
The deceased is survived by a son, Dyle Carter and daughter, Mrs. Leland Benge of Winterset and one brother, Everett of Indianola, and two sisters, Mrs. Ethyl Carter of Des Moines and Mrs. Alma Carnagan of Denver.
