March 1964ESTELLA CAROLINE STANLEY WILLIAMSON
Estella Caroline Stanley, daughter of Josiah and Sarah Wilson Stanley, was born on February 28, 1879 and departed this life at her home on March 22, 1964 at the age of 85 years. She was from a family of ten children. She grew up and received her education in the Earlham community and later taught many terms in the Dallas County schools.
On November 11, 1903, she was united in marriage to John Harvey Williamson. To this union were born three children. They lived six years in Earlham and then moved to the farm on which she spent the remainder of her life. They enjoyed more than 61 years of married life together.
Estella has been a member of the Friends church since early adulthood. Her life was her home, family and friends. She expressed much love for her family and grandchildren. "Let's go to Aunt Estella's!" was a favorite request of her many nieces and nephews. Her flowers, garden and the "Great Outdoors" were also great sources of enjoyment for her.
It can be said that hers was a beautiful life-kind through every trial, loving everyone, and beloved by everyone. When sickness and sorrow came to others, they had her help. She loved children and they loved her.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and three children: Mrs. Philip Bales of Earlham, Stanley Williamson of Earlham and Mrs. Harold Clarkson of Winterset. She leaves, also, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ethel Jacobs of Hotchkiss, Colorado and many relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held at the Earlham Friends church on the afternoon of March 25 with the pastor, L. Willard Reynolds, in charge. Mrs. Robert Maxwell was soloist and Mrs. Helen Ludwick was organist. The funeral director was Roy E. Evans. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
