Jameseen Ralston Anderson, youngest daughter of Peter and Isabella Anderson, was born July 1, 1880 in Wigtownshire, Scotland. She was one of a family of ten children, all of whom with her parents preceded her in death.

She attended the public school of Wigtownshire and later a private school.

In 1904 she married Henry Alexander Foster at Gatehouse, Scotland at the home of her sister where she made her home after the death of her mother.

In 1905 she and Harry came to the United States and for five years lived on the Stanley Williamson farm before moving to the Foster home south of Earlham. Here they lived until 1951 when they retired to Earlham.

For years, included in her life as homemaker, was brother-in-law, R. G. Foster, whose constant helpfulness she never forgot. Her nephew, Peter Anderson, made his home with the Fosters for many years and was as devoted as a son could have been. One daughter, Isabella Godby, three grandchildren: Jean Wright, John Godby and Mary Ray, brightened the years as she watched their progress in living. Eight great grandchildren delighted her in her declining years.

In 1954 family and friends came to help Harry and Jamie celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, but with declining years and incresed infirmities they moved to Valley View Village in Des Moines in July of 1963. Here she passed away on January 25, 1973 after many years of suffering.

(Burial was in the Earlham cemetery)
