Death of Anderson Barker

Anderson Barker, who had resided in Madison county for many years, died last Wednesday, April 16th, at the age of 76 years, at his home near Peru. The deceased was born in Indiana. His wife, who was formerly Miss Emma Knox, died 17 years ago.

Mr. Barker is survived by three children: Clyde Barker of Missouri; Mrs. June Creger, of Indianola, and Ross Barker. He also leaves two brothers and two sisters: S. H. Barker, of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. W. R. Walker, of Akron, Colorado; P. N. Barker and Miss Betty Barker, of Macksburg.

The Rev. John T. Hall, pastor of the Winterset Baptist church, conducted his funeral services in the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, Friday, April 25th, and burial was made in the Macksburg cemetery.

Anderson Barker

Anderson Barker, son of Orlando and Lucie Barker, was born in the state of Indiana, July 4, 1854, and died April 16, 1930. Early in life he was united in marriage to Emma Knox, who preceded him in death some 47 years ago. To this union were born four children, Clyde Barker, of Missouri; Mrs. June Creger, of Indianola; Roy, now deceased, and Ross Barker.

When but a boy, Mr. Barker accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, and united with the Macksburg Baptist church. He had since that time followed his Lord, who in love has called him to his eternal home.

In addition to the children already mentioned, the following brothers and sisters mourn his passing: S. H Barker, of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. W. R. Walker, of Akron, Colorado; P. N. Barker and Betty Barker, of Macksburg.

Services were held for him in the Ramsey-Richards funeral home conducted by Rev. John T. Hall pastor of the First Baptist church. Burial was in the Macksburg cemetery.

Peru

Funeral services for Anderson Barker, who died Wednesday evening, April 16, at the county poor farm near Winterset, were held Friday afternoon at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home and burial was in the Macksburg cemetery.

Mr. Barker had been ill for several months and his death was not unexpected. his kind heart and cheerful outlook on life won him many friends and he will be missed by them. Sympathy is extended to his children and other relatives.
