Felix George Gonseth, son of Louis Samuel and Mary Louise Cransaz Gonseth, was born December 1, 1880 in Aigle, Switzerland. He passed away June 17, 1962 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 16 days.
Felix came to Madison county in 1900, moved Oklahoma in 1907 where he lived for 16 years. He returned to Murray, Iowa in 1923, then moved to a farm in Jackson twp., Madison county in 1935. In 1957 he moved to Winterset where he has since resided.
On February 25, 1907, Felix was married to Bertha M. Gensicke of Winterset. He was a member of the Baptist church.
He is survived by his widow and three children: Fred H. Gonseth of Earlham, Mrs. Emma Gene (Alfred) Binns and Chas. L. Gonseth of Winterset; three brothers and four sisters; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Services were held Wednesday, June 20 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Rev. John Casey of Ames conducted the service. Interment was in the Winterset cemetery.
