RITES HELD HERE FOR LEE E. ECKSTEIN

Former Winterset Resident Died in Des Moines on July 6

Lee E. Eckstein, former Madison county resident, who had been living in Des Moines the last two and one half years, died there Tuesday, July 6. He was 53 years of age.

Mr. Eckstein was a native of El Paso, Ill., where he was born Oct. 13, 1900, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Julis W. Eckstein. He lived at Winterset for 36 years before moving to Des Moines.

Surviving are his wife, the former Emma Moore; a son, Lee Eckstein; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Friedmeyer of Des Moines; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Eckstein of Winterset; four grandchildren; two brothers, George Eckstein of Des Moines and Lawrence Eckstein of Macksburg; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Trumbauer of Winterset.

Funeral services were held from the Richards Funeral home here last Thursday, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
