June 11, 1958WILLIAM F. DEARDORFF DIES AT IOWA CITY
William F. Deardorff, a life-long resident of Madison county, died Monday, June 9, at the University Hospital in Iowa City. He was 57 years of age.
Mr. Deardorff was born March 16, 1901 at Peru, a son of Frank and Luella Clifton Deardorf. His active life was spent in farming. At the time of his death his home was in Winterset.
He was married July 8, 1933 in Des Moines, to Gretchen L. Harrison, who survives him. He also leaves three daughters, Betty Deardorff of Omaha, Mrs. Wilma Bodwell of Winterset and Donna Lee Deardorff at home; and two grandsons, Gary and Bobby Bodwell.
Funeral services will be held this thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Damon, pastor of the First Baptist church. Burial will be made in the Wight cemetery.
