DR. MABLE JONES DIED WEDNESDAY

Well-Known Woman Dentist Practiced in Winterset for 40 Years

Dr. Mabel Jones, one of Winterset's eldest residents and a practicing dentist here for 40 years, died at her home here, Wednesday. She was 70 years of age and had been in failing health for a number of years.

Miss Jones was born in Quincy, Illinois on June 21, 1867, the daughter of Jefferson F. and Margaret Cassiday Jones. As a child she came with her parents to this community, and it had been her home since that time.

She was a graduate of the local schools and of the University of Iowa at Iowa City, where she received her degree as doctor of dentistry. She was a long-time and active member of the Baptist church here and of Chapter AG P.E.O.

Miss Jones is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Murphy of Santa Barbara, California and Mrs. Verde Rundlet of Detroit Lake, Minnesota; and two brothers, Dudley and Dwight Jones of Dodley, Montana. One brother, Frank Jones, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Tidrick's funeral home in charge of the Rev. J. H. Cochran, Jr., pastor of the Baptist church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
