Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 2 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home for Mary Clydie Morgan, 93, who died Monday, Jan. 2, 1978, at Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Morgan was born August 12, 1884 in Scott township of Madison County, the daughter of George W. and Olive James Armstrong. She was married on December 11, 1907 to Sammie L. Morgan in Scott township.
He preceded her in death on October 9, 1941.
Mrs. Morgan was a housewife, a lifetime resident of the county and a member of the Christian Church in Peru. She served as Democratic Committee Woman and was a member of the Scott township Community Circle, Zion Federated Ladies Aid and Oak Run Circle.
Survivors include a niece, Edna Armstrong of Marysville, California, who was raised by Mrs. Morgan from the age of three until marriage.
Also surviving are two sisters, Laura Armstrong of Des Moines and Birdie Ogburn of Marshall, Texas.
Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and one sister.
Officiating at Wednesday's services was Rev.Byron Ayers. Burial was made at the Peru Cemetery.
