Former Resident of This County Was 42 Years Of Age
Marion F. Ragan, formerly of Madison county, died this Tuesday, July 8, in a Des Moines hospital. He had undergone a lung operation June 30. He was 42 years old.
Mr. Ragan was born in Madison county Nov. 19, 1915 a son of Ben and Ora Ragan. His early life was spent in this county. During World War II he served in the U. S. army and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge in France.
He was married to Lela Berry on March 16, 1944. They have been living in Des Moines in recent years.
Surviving are his wife; his father, Ben Ragan of Winterset; three brothers, George Ragan of Winterset, Benjamin Ragan of Seattle, Wash., and Delbert Ragan of Flora Park, New York; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Kirk of Lorimor and Doris M. Ragan at home; a step-daughter, Genevieve Naughton and three grandchildren all of Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held this Friday from the Hamilton Funeral home in Des Moines, in charge of the Rev. William A. Knight, pastor of the Highland Park Christian church. Burial will be made in Highland Memorial gardens.
