John Ernest Brooker

John Ernest Brooker was born August 7th, 1883, in Jefferson township, Madison county, and passed away at Des Moines December 7th, 1930, aged 47 years and 5 months.

He was married December 9th, 1903. To this union three children were born, one daughter Lenore Allen and two sons Forrest and Corless Brooker, all of Des Moines. These together with four sisters, Mrs. Henry Imes of St. Charles, Mrs. Ira Trindle of Winterset, Mrs. Mm. Petty of Valley Junction and Mrs. Otto Coe of Des Moines, are left to mourn the loss of a devoted father and brother. His father and mother and one brother having preceeded him to the Great Beyond.

Ernest as he was familiarly known was always very fond of his home and loved ones. He was always very much interested in the welfare of his sisters and his children. His life’s work was for others.

Death of Ernest Brooker

Ernest Brooker, a former resident of Madison county passed away at his home in Des Moines Sunday night, December 7th, with heart trouble after an illness of six months. He was 47 years of age. Mr. Brooker was a resident for a number of years of Jefferson township, he later moved to Van Meter and from there to Des Moines.

He was the youngest of a family of six children, four of whom survive him. Mrs. Henry Iiams, St. Charles, Mrs. I. I. Trindle, Winterset; Mrs. Will Petty, Valley Junction; Mrs. Otto Coe, Des Moines. He also leaves a daughter, Lenore and two sons, twins, Forest and Corles. His wife preceeded him in death two years ago. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday from the Fairview church north of Winterset and burial was made there.
