EUGENE LOVE DIES AFTER HEART ATTACK

Eugene Love, a life-time resident of the Macksburg community died Wednesday Dec. 9, following a heart attack. He was 72 years of age.

Mr. Love was born in Macksburg Dec. 5, 1881, a son of Wesley and Elizabeth Rowe Love. He had lived in the Macksburg vicinity all his life, and at one time was employed in the Love store there. Since 1948, he had been living at the Roland Rowe home southwest of Macksburg.

Surviving are two brothers, Clyde Love of Creston and Clarence Love of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Frank Ross of Macksburg.

Funeral services were held from the Dietrick and Keating chapel at Creston on Friday, Dec. 11 in charge of the Rev. A. P. Keast of the Creston Methodist Church. Burial was made in Moon cemetery, Macksburg.

Gene Love, 71, Of Macksburg, Dies

MACKSBURG — Eugene Love, 71, a longtime resident of the Macksburg community, died at 6:30 p. m. Wednesday after suffering a heart attack a short time earlier. He was stricken while helping with the chores at the Rolland Rowe farm, just south of the Union-Madison county line, northwest of Lorimor. He had been living at the Rowe farm for some time.

Mr. Love was stricken in the barn while helping Mr. Rowe with the farm chores. Mr. Rowe helped him into the house shortly after 6 p. m., and called a doctor from Orient. Mr. Love died at 6:30 p. m., before the doctor arrived.

Justice of the Peace Len Ballard of Lorimor and Sheriff J. R. (Tooie) Ewing of Creston were called, in the absence of Dr. C. J. Ryan, Union county coroner.

Gene Love was born at Macksburg, Dec. 5, 1882. He was the son of Wesley and Elizabeth Rowe Love. He had lived in this vicinity most of his life and at one time was employed in the Love store here.

Surviving him are two brothers, Clyde Love of Creston, Clarence Love of Winterset, and a sister, Mrs. F. A. Ross of Macksburg.

Funeral services will be held at the Deitrick and Keating chapel in Creston at 2 p. m. Friday. Dr. A. P. Keast, pastor of the First Methodist church in Creston, will officiate. Burial will be in the Moon cemetery near Macksburg. His body will remain at the funeral home until time for the services.
