TRURO

This community was greatly shocked Tuesday evening when it became known that W. A. Bradshaw had been found dead about 5 o’clock that evening at his home here. Mr. Bradshaw was last seen alive about 4:30 on Monday evening and was apparently in his usual good health. Friends who had not seen him all day Tuesday became uneasy and inquired among the neighbors if they had seen him. About 5 o’clock Tuesday evening J. W. Fulton and E. W. Bender went to the Bradshaw home and found him laying on the floor, dead. Death apparently being instant and caused by as stroke of apoplexy.

Mr. Bradshaw was a pioneer of Madison county, being born in the county and living here practically all his life. At the time of his death he was mayor of Truro, having served in that capacity a number of years. He was a prominent citizen, always having the best interest of Truro at heart. Since the death of his wife, two years ago, he has lived alone.

He is survived by his two sons, Ben of Truro and George of Newton, besides many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Christian church at 2:00 o’clock Thursday afternoon, February 9, by Rev. Cooper.
