Maynard Simmerman, 87, of Hysham, Mont., died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 1998 at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth, Mont.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 31, at Hysham Community Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Fred Halde officiating. Interment was at Hysham Cemetery.

Maynard Simmerman was born Oct. 16, 1910 in Murray to Felix and Olive Kirk Simmerman. He graduated from Peru High School in 1930. He married Verlene Wearmouth Feb. 20, 1937 in Winterset. They lived in Oregon for two years before moving to Hysham, where they farmed for the past 58 years.

Maynard was a member of the Hysham Community Presbyterian Church, Hiram Lodge #59 A.F & A.M. of Forsyth for 63 years and the Al Bedoo Shrine of Billings, Mont.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Richard (wife Katie) of Kirkland, N. M.; a daughter, Linda (husband Robert) of Spokane, Wash.; three sisters, Vada Denly and Dora Denly both of Osceola, and Neita Denley of Galesburg, Ill.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Beals Mortuary of Forsyth.
