Freda Jerrian Simmerman of Truro died Saturday, July 2, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 70. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning July 6 at the Christian Church in Truro with Rev. Janne Clinton of New Virginia officiating. Burial was at Union Cemetery in Clarke County.
Born on July 20, 1912 at Murray, Iowa, she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Ann Moore Clifton. She married Cecil Jennings Woods on March 9, 1930 at Murray. There were three sons from this marriage. He preceded her in death in 1952.
She married Aubrey Simmerman on Jan. 9, 1954 in Winterset. They had one son.
In addtion to her husband Aubrey of Truro, she is survived by sons, Cecil Woods of Dallas Center, Darrel Woods of Truro, DeVon Woods of Afton and Donald Simmerman of Truro; nine grandchildren, four sisters, three stepsons, and two stepdaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil, six brothers and a granddaughter.
