Marie Silverthorn, Lorimor

Services for Marie Silverthorn, 89, Lorimor, who died Oct. 26 at the Bethesda Care Center in Winterset, where she had lived since 1979, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Watts-Lindsay Funeral Home in Lorimor with the Rev. Mary Anne Bernard of the Methodist Church in Lorimor officiating. Burial will be at the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.

Born on Dec. 7, 1896 northwest of Lorimor, she was the daughter of Andrew and Sarah Klingensmith Smith. She was married to Neal D. Silverthorn on March 13, 1915.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Kneuper of Lorimor; five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, three sisters, a brother and a grandson.

Visitation will be held up to services.

WINTERSET, IA.—Services for Marie Silverthorn, 89, of Winterset, who died of an apparent heart ailment Sunday at Bethesda Care Center, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Watts-Lindsay Funeral Home in Lorimor. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery in Macksburg.

Mrs. Silverthorn was born near Lorimor, where she lived most of her life. She had lived in Des Moines for 11 years before moving to Winterset and had been a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy L. Kneuper of Lorimor; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
