Berniece C. Silverthorn, 81, of Des Moines, died of a heart ailment March 8, 1996 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services were March 11 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Don Frank officiated the services and burial was at the Lorimor Cemetery.
She was born in Union County on Oct. 16, 1914 to Weaver and Tressa (Gorr) Silverthorn. She had been married to Clie Denly. She was retired from EMCO Industries as a machinist. She was raised in Union County and had lived in Winterset from 1945 to 1955 before moving to Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son; two brothers and two sisters.
Surviving relatives include one daughter, Carolyn Denly Ullrich of Des Moines; two sisters, Lois Newton of Ankeny and Freda Sexton of Winterset; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
