Robert D. Silliman, Winterset

Services for Robert D. Silliman, Winterset, who died Oct. 25 at Des Moines General Hospital, were held Thursday Oct. 27 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Rieckhoff officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born at Broken Bow, Neb., on Oct. 25, 1927, he was the son of Alonzo and Myrtle Lorenz Silliman. Mr. Silliman, a retired farmer and truck driver, was married to Ellen Harris on Dec. 3, 1950 at Earlham. He was a World War II Army veteran and had spent nine years in Winterset, coming from Lorimor.

He was a Methodist and a member of Dodge Center Church.

Survivors are his wife, Ellen; a son, Rick of Hedrick; daughters, Nancy Schwartzhoff of Ames and Kristi Livingston of Hedrick; brothers, Charles of Tampa, Fla., and Ronald of Carlisle; sisters, Mae Rockwell of Des Moines, Jo Bell of Omaha, Neb., Lois Rieckhoff of Maxwell, Marge Gale of Keswick and Phyllis Crandall of Thermopolis, Wyo.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.
