FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN COLORADO

Myra Silliman Operated Nursing Home Here Many Years

Mrs. Myra M. Silliman, a resident of Madison County for many years, died Saturday March 19 at Grand Junction, Colorado, where she had lived since 1953. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Silliman was a native of Scott township, where she was born November 2, 1883, a daughter of Charles and Ida Robinson. She spent her early life here and was married here in 1961 to James R. Silliman.

The couple moved to Colorado in 1907 and settled at Collbran, where they were pioneer residents on the Kansas Mesa area. They lived there until 1921, when they returned to Iowa. Mrs. Silliman operated a nursing home in Winterset until 1953 when she moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. Mr. Silliman died in 1951.

She leaves a son, Dick Silliman of Grand Junction; three daughters, Mrs. Esther Knowles of Grand Junction, Mrs. Ethelle Raymond of Loma, Colorado and Mrs. Evely Bloss of Collbran; and a brother, Ray Robinson of Winterset.

Funeral services were held at Grand Junction, March 20, with burial in Elmwood cemetery at Fruita.
