A lifetime resident of Madison County, Herman Shoff, 72, died Monday, September 20, 1976 at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. A member of the Pitzer community, Mr. Shoff was born January 9, 1904 at Pitzer, the son of Lem Shoff and Etta Hindman Shoff.
Mr. Shoff was married to Murriel Doggett on May 4, 1947 in Des Moines. He was employed as a clothing salesman for 30 years with the Minnesota Woolen Company.
A member of the American Legion, Mr. Shoff was affiliated with the United Presbyterian Church at Pitzer. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-daughter, Betty Cole Hultine.
Survivors include his wife, Murriel and one son, Jerry Shoff, rural Winterset. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Herman Shoff were held Thursday, September 23 at 11 a.m. from the United Presbyterian Church of Pitzer, Rev. Jerry Evelsizer and Rev. Leon Ralph Seager officiating.
Burial was made at the Pitzer Cemetery.

Funeral services for Herman Shoff of rural Earlham will be held Thursday, September 23 at 11 a.m. from the United Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Shoff died Sept. 20, at Veteran's hospital in Des Moines. He was 72 years of age.
Officiating at the funeral this Thursday will be the Rev. Jerry Evelsizer and the Rev. Leon Ralph Seager.
