Edna Shoemaker Services Held

Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Winterset Foursquare church for Mrs. Edna M. Shoemaker of this community, whose death had occurred Tuesday, March 21, at Memorial hospital here. The Rev. Charles Updike, pastor of the Foursquare church, conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Shoemaker was 76 years of age, and had been a resident of Madison county most of her life. For many years she operated a nursing home here, the first such home in Winterset.

She was the former Edna May Campbell, daughter of James and Laura Foy Campbell and was born at Prescott Feb. 1, 1896. She was married Dec. 1, 1915 at Red Oak, to William W. Shoemaker. They were parents of two daughters. Both the husband and the two daughters preceded Mrs. Shoemaker in death.

She is survived by three grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lee Dawson of Sibley.
