Shirley Ann Shivers, 73, of Knoxville died March 12, 2003 at her home.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 14, at Williams Funeral in Knoxville with Elder Dick Young officiating. Inurnment of the cremains will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in rural Marion County.
Shirley Shivers was born Nov. 27, 1929 to Charles William and Marie (Butters) Day of Campbell. She was a 1946 graduate of Winterset High School. She was united in marriage to Phillip Caudle. She had resided in rural Winterset, Des Moines and Fort Dodge before moving to Knoxville. While living in Knoxville, Shirley was employed by the Veterans Administration Medical Center and Quality Home Health Care. On Oct. 12, 1985, she married Howard Lee Shivers.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Lee of Knoxville; three sons, Wayne Caudle and Dean Caudle, both of Winterset and Larry Caudle of De Land, Fla.; a daughter, Sheila Madloff of St. Charles; a stepson, Marty Shivers of Knoxville; a sister, Doris Sayles of Becker, Minn.; a brother, Chuck Day of Knoxville; six grandchildren; and a great grandson.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Knoxville Hospice or her family.
